New UK IR torch regs, and introducing the new Solaris SRXv2 from the Torch Factory (pt.1 2)

Following some recent scaremongering about ‘new’ UK IR safety standards, here in this educational video NV/thermal guru Bruce explains what’s new, with the use of two new IR torches…

01:04 Over to Bruce, who explains that although the demonstrated IR illuminators contain Laser sources of IR light (see BS EN60825), their output illumination comes under the LAMP standard (BS EN 62471) thanks to clause 4.4 (2014 update).
08:48 Bruce tests the Solaris SRXv2, then my Wraith Lite, then my DS35-50RF -to check they’re compliant with new (2021) BS EN 50689 requirement (checking that at no point is the beam waisted).
