Box to Bench with the Diana 48 in .177 - A side-lever, spring powered air rifle from Germany
From Germany, by way of the North American importer Blue Line Solutions, comes the Diana 48, aka the RWS 48. The 48 is a time tested side-lever, first released in the 1980’s. It is a spring powered pellet pusher made with all the latest refinements by Diana in their German factory.
Diana airguns are divided into two product lines, the Action line and the Performance line. The Action line airguns are made, to Diana’s specifications, elsewhere and then distributed out to the world. The Performance line, including the 48 reviewed here, are made in-house by Diana’s team. The quality of the materials and the attention to detail is clear!
In this Box to Bench video we cover chronograph numbers with the Labradar and accuracy with both the JSB 8.4 and 10.3 grain pellets. The accuracy is at 15 yards, which isn’t that far, but a stretch for my old eyes and open or iron sights. I do a trigger pull test (prepare to be impressed) talk about loading, safety and build quality.
We will be back with a second video on this rifle where we mount a scope, stretch it’s legs and talk more about the shooting experience and maybe even do a little pest control.
I am ecstatic to announce a new channel partner, Diana Airguns of Germany, to the Wisconsin AirGunners family. Expect to see more content from Diana on the channel, and if there is something specific from their catalog that you’d like to see, let us know in the comments and I will see what I can do.
